GHANAIAN PLAYERS ABROAD

The weekend was as usual packed of actions as Ghanaian players Europe featured for their respective clubs.

ENGLAND
Emmanuel Frimpong still remains out of Asene Wenger’s plans as the 21year old was not included in the match day squad of Arsenal when they beat  Coventry City 4-0 at home in the English FA cup. Derrick Owusu Boateng who is linked with a move to Championship side Watford was not named in the Fulham’s squad that drew 1-1 at Sheffield United. It was a battle between two Ghanaian’s when Leicester beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at home as both Jeffery Shullp and Albert Adomah were in action for Leicester and Middelsbrough respectively. But the former was substituted in the 80th min.

FRANCE
In the French Liga 1, John Boye was out from the Rennes squad that drew 1-1 away at Lille. The Ghanaian international has not fully recovered from injury. In other games, defender Jonathan Mensah was sent off in the 40th min after verbally assaulting the referee as  in a game which Evian lost . Still in the Liga 1, Olympic Marsille loanee Jordan Ayew saw full action for Sochaux but failed to hit the back of the net as Sochaux drew 1-1 at AC Ajaccio. Ghana winger Andre Ayew was out of Marsille squad due to injury. Marsille lost 1-0 to Monaco. Petit striker Majeed Waris played full throttle for Valenciennes when they drew 1-1 with Lorient at home. In the Liga 2, Former under 17 forward Kwame Nsor was missen in action for Metz who lost 0-1 at Arles.

NETHERLANDS
In the Eredivision, Kwame Quansah was an usused substitute when Heracles Almelo beat RKC Waalwijk by 2-1. Fellow countryman Mathew Amoah was not part of the Heracles squad.  Ghanaian born  Elvis Manu was on target as he helped Cambuur secure a 3-1 win over Heerenven.. Ghana wizkid Christian Atsu was in his usual best for Vitessi Ahiem but could not help them secure all 3points at home as they shared spoils with NEC Nijmegen.

ITALY
In the Italian Seria A, Kwadwo Asamoah could not last the whole duration as Juventus were forced to make a substitution in the 26th min when they brought on goalkeeper Marco Storari for the Ghanaian international after Gianllugi Buffon was sent off in the 24th min. In other games, Acosty Boadu Maxwell watched from the bench when Chievo managed to hold Napoli to a 1-1 draw away.  Workaholic midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was booked in the 11th min and played the entire duration but could not help Udinese avoid defeat at  Parma as they lost 0-1. Fellow Ghanaian Afriyie Acquah played 78 min for Parma. Still in the seria A, Issac Cofie was not handed any minute of play as Genoa lost 2-3 at Fiorentina. AC Milan loanee Kingsley Boateng watch from the bench as Catania held Inter to a 0-0 draw at the Goseppe Miezza. Former under 20 midfielder Alfred Duncan came on in the 74th min for Leandro Greco and helped Livorno beat Sassoulo 3-1 at home. Youngster Rahman Chibsah was also feature for Sassoulo but was substituted in the 52nd min by Antonia Flora Flores. Sulley Muntari came on to play the last 21min when he came off the bench to help Milan secure all 3 points after beating Cagliari 2-1. In the Italia seria B. Massawudu Alhassan played 90 min for Latina when they won 2-1 over Empoli

GERMANY
Ghanaian pursuit Karim Bellarabi came on in the 77th min and helped Braunshweign secure a point at Werder Bremen. Kelvin Prince Boateng captained Schalke to an emphatic 3-0 win at Hamburg. The Ghanaian international played the entire game for the royal blues.

BELGIUM
Right full back Daniel Opare played full 90min for Standard Liege when they beat KSC Lokeren 1-0. Former King Faisal and under 20 winger Frank Achaempong came on in the 75th min and helped Anderletch with a 2-0 win over Club Brugge. Former under 17 midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi warmed the Club Brugge bench. Both Bernard Kumordzi and Nana Kwasi Asare were in action for Racing Genk and KAA Gent respectively but the later beat the former 2-1 to secure all 2 points.

GREECE
In the Greek league, Samuel Inkoom tasted 90 min for Platanias who lost 1-0 to Panathinaikos.

TUNISIA
Black Stars left back Harrison Afful gave an assist to score the only goal when Esperance won 1-0. Former under 20 midfielder and WA All Stars player Saidu Salifu also played 90 min for  Club African in the Tunisian top flight.
