LIBYA HOLD GHANA TO A 1-1 DRAW

The Local Black Stars today were held to a 1-1 drawn game by Libya in their 2nd group tie in the ongoing CHAN Competition in South Africa.

Ghana who started the first half on the a very bright note put themselves infront after just 6min of play with a powerful header from forward Yahaya Mohammed. After dominating the first 45min Ghana finished the first half with a 1-0 lead.

Back from recess, Ghana could not hold on to the lead as Libya grabbed the equalizer from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute through Faisal Ali after Local Black Stars defender Nuru Sulley was yellow carded for bringing down a Libyan player in the 18-yard box.

Ghana now lie 2nd on the table with 4 points, same points with Libya who are first on the table.

The Black Stars will now face Ethiopia in the final group game on Tuesday 21st January at the Free State Stadium.
