Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong was sent off in his debut for Barnsley in their 1-0 English Championship loss to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at the Hillsborough Stadium.
The 22-year-old, who was signed from Arsenal on Friday, was yellow carded in the 24th minute before receiving the marching order 6 minutes later following a harsh challenge on Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Christopher Maguire.
This means Frimpong, who lasted for only 30 minutes on his debut, will miss Barnsley’s next two league matches against Ipswich Town and Doncaster Rovers.
