RECAP OF GHANAIAN PLAYERS ABROAD




It was another packed weekend as Ghanaian players abroad were in action for the various clubs in Europe, SPORTS LOUNGE as usual bring you a recap of how Ghanaian players for their respective clubs.

ENGLAND
In the English, the only Ghanaian player left in the EPL Derrick Boateng was missing in the Fulham squad that lost 0-3 to Southampton at Craven Cottage. Elsewhere in the Championship, Inform Albert Adomah was also out from Middelsbrough match day squad due to injury as Boro drew 0-0 at Doncaster Rovers. In other games, youngster Jeffery Schullp warmed the bench for Leicester City when they won 1-0 away at AFC Bournemouth. Still in the championship, midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong receiving the matching orders on his debut after received a 2nd bookable offence in the 30th min after a hash challenge on Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Christopher Maguire as his side lost 1-0. In League two, former QPR attacker Patrick Agyemang came on for Scottish international Jake Jarvis in the 63rd minute as his side Portmouth lost 1-0 at home to Torquay United.


SPAIN
In the Spanish primera division, Striker Richamond Boakye Yiadom watched from the bench as Elche beat Almeria 1-0 at home. Youngster Abdul Fatau  Mohammed also sat on the bench for his side Granada when they lost  1-2 at home to Celta Vigo.


ITALY
In the Italian Seria A, Alfred Duncan was booked in the 20th minutes and played full throttle as Livorno drew 3-3 at Catania. AC Milan loanee Kingsley Boateng sat on the bench for Catania. Former FC Nania midfielder Acosty Boadu Maxwell could not make the match day squad for Chievo Verona when Lazio beat them 2-0 at home. In other games, Rahman Chibsah was an unused substitute when Sassoulo lost 1-2 to Hellas Verona at home. Ghanaian born Gofred Donsah was on Verona’s bench. Workaholic midfielder  Emmanuel Agyemang Badu played 90 minutes for Udinese when they won 2-0 at Bologna. Both Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien were in the Milan match day squad when they drew 1-1 at home with Torino. Muntari was however substituted in the 62nd minutes as Essien could not feature in his debut game. Kwadwo Asomoah played 90 min for Juventus when they beat Inter 3-1 at home


GERMANY
Kelvin Prince Boateng scored his 6th goal of the season for Schalke when he scored the winner in the 81st minutes with a right footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner of the post after receiving a pass from Roman Neustadter in their 2-1 win over VFL Wolfsburg at the Veltins Arena as the royal blues annex all 3 points to push to 4th place on the log. Fellow countryman Anthony Annan was not included in the Schalke match day squad. Ghanaian born German Karim Bellarabi came on for Orhan Adami in the 67th min when Braunschweig lost 1-2 to 2nd placed Brussia Dortmund.


FRANCE
Olympic Marsille loanee Jordan Ayew played 90 minute but could not find the back of the net for Sochaux in their 1-0 win over Nancy. Ghana’s pacy striker Majeed Warris also featured in the entire duration for Valencienne when they lost 3-0 to St Ettienne. Defender Jonathan Mensah was out of  the Evian squad due to suspension as Evian drew 1-1 with AC Ajaccio.


NETHERLANDS
Mathew Amoah warmed the bench for SC Heracles Almelo in their 2-1 lost to NAC Breda. Fellow Ghanaian team mate Kwame Quansah was not included in the match day squad for Heracles. Ghanaian wizkid Christian Atsu Twasam was in his usual best for Vitessi Ahiem when they drew 1-1 with Fayenood Rottendam. Ghanaian teenager Shadrach Eghan stole the show at the De Grolsch Veste when he scored a classy strike in FC Twente’s 3-1 home triumph over Cambuur . Ghanaian-born Dutch attacker Fred Benson found his scoring boot as he scored in PEC Zwolle’s 3-1 win over Roda JC


BELGIUM
In the Jupilar League, Frank Acheampong came on in the 67th minutes but could not help Anderletch avoid defeat as they lost 2-0 at Liers. Nana Kwasi Asare also played 90 minutes for KAA Gent when they beat OH Leuven 2-0. Bernard Yao Kumordzi also played 85 minutes for Racing Genk when they won 2-0 away at KV Mechelen. Still in the Jupilar League, Daniel Opare Tawiah featured the whole duration for Standard Liege when they won 4-0 at home over Cercle Brugge. Enoch Adu Kofi came on to play the last 5 minutes for Club Brugge when they beat RAEC Bergen Mons 2-1.


SCOTLAND
In the Scottish premier League, new signing Prince Buabeng lasted 86th for Partick Thistle on his debute when they drew 1-1 at hom with Dundee United.



TURKEY
In the Turkish top flight Jerry Akaminko as usual played 90 minutes for Eskirsehirspor’s 2-1 win over Fenerbache. Kwame Amponsah-Karikari scored the only goal of the game for Balikesirspor as they managed a slim 1-0 win over Adana Demirspor in the Turkish second-tier league on Sunday


UAE
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored the winner for Al Ain in their 2-1 win over Al Ahli in the semi finals of the president cup to qualify them to the finals.
