midfielder Michael Essien has sent a message to fellow countryman Jerry
Akaminko wishing him speedy recovery after the defender sustained a horror
injury in Ghana’s warm up game against the Netherlands in Rotterdam on
Saturday.
Akaminko was
stretched of in injury time after he landed on his feet awkwardly in the dying
embers of the game which saw him being stretched of in the game.
Essien
however took to twitter to wish his team mate a speedy recovery after the game
in Holland.
“Very sad
about Jerry's injury. Get well soon. We are with you. Stay strong bro!!!” he
twittered.
Akaminko has
been ruled out of the World Cup after the team doctors confirmed the state of
his injury and noted that he will not be available before the team begins it’s campaign
with the US on June 16th.
