"WE LET GHANA BACK INTO THE GAME THROUGH MISTAKES”-GERMANY GOALKEEPER MANUEL NEUER.

Goalkeeper of the German national team, Manuel Neuer believes his side’s 2-2 draw with Ghana on Saturday evening was as a result of certain mistakes executed by his team.

Germany who thumped Portugal in their opening group game by 4-0 were given a match of their lives by Ghana when they were held to a 2-2 draw at the Estádio Castelão by the Africans.

Joachim Leow’s men who had shot themselves into the lead earlier on in the second half were 2-1 down after 63 minutes of play, after duo Andre Ayew and skipper Asamoah Gyan had scored for the Black Stars in the 52nd and 63rd minutes respectively.

But the Germans who looked favorite on paper fought their way back when substitute Miroslav Klose got them the match equalizer in the 70th minutes to end the game 2-2.

Neuer, 28, believes mistakes on the part of his teammates allowed the Black stars back into the game.

"We let Ghana back into the game through mistakes. We gifted them goals. You can't allow that in the World Cup. The result against Portugal was too beautiful; we've got our feet back on the ground now”, he told reporters after the game.

The Bayern Munich shot-stopper was put to test on a number of occasions when he was forced to pull out some splendid saves preventing the likes of Christian Astu and Sulley Muntari in the first half to keep his side in the game.
