GHANA’S GROUP OPPONENT BEAT MEXICO 1-0 IN WARM UP GAME

Ghana’s group G World cup opponent Portugal on Friday beat North American giants Mexico 1-0 in a pre- World Cup warm up game at the Gillette Stadium.

Bruno Alves’s stoppage time header was all the Navigators needed after 90 minutes plus additional time.

Mexico had dominated play in the second half before Joao Moutinho’s free- kick about 35 yards was headed past goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.

Portugal however played without their star man Cristiano Ronaldo who was recovering from tendinosis and a muscle injury, both in his left leg.

Portugal now plays their final pre-World Cup friendly next Tuesday against Ireland at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey [USA].
