MUNTARI SUSPENDED FROM GHANA’S LAST GROUP GAME AGAINST PORTUGAL

Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari will miss Ghana’s last group game with Portugal on Thursday June 26th after picking up a second yellow card in the on-going FIFA World Cup  during Ghana’s 2-2 draw with Germany on Saturday evening at the Estádio Castelão.

The 28 year old AC Milan star who had a great game against Germany was booked in the 90th minutes after a challenge on German midfielder Tony Kroos.

Muntari had earlier on picked up a yellow card in Ghana’s opening group game against the USA. A game the Stars lost 2-1.

The suspension of the hard-working midfielder thus means head coach Kwasi Appiah will now have to look at other options as the likes of Michael Essien, Agyemang Badu and Afriyie Acquah might be considered as a perfect replacements for Ghana in the final group match against Portugal.

Ghana after managing a draw with Germany will be hoping to parade its best squad against the Portuguese as nothing less than a win will see them being booted out of the competition.
