FIRST CAPITAL PLUS BANK TO COLLABORATE MORE WITH GFA

First Capital Plus Bank, who last month signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have promised to collaborate more with the football association to revive and sustain interest in the local Premier League.

The league sponsor joined hands with the GFA earlier this week to unveil a magnificent 90-centimere trophy to be given to the team that emerges winner of this season’s league. Alongside the huge glittering trophy were four miniature trophies, the Golden Boot and the Best Glove, which organisers of the league say would go to outstanding players.

Speaking at the ceremony to unveil the various plans they have for the League, the Chief Executive officer (CEO) of First Capital Plus Bank, John Kofi Mensah, disclosed that the bank was committed to doing more with the FA to raise standards in the elite football league.

“We are so far happy with the way the GFA is collaborating with us. We will not be surprised that, when this phase is over, the next phase will also be taken up by the same company” he said stating that the bank trusted the GFA and its management of the game before entering into the sponsorship agreement.

“We first of all had confidence in the GFA. We also had confidence in the football structure in the country; that it is an industry that has great potential to turn things around. It is something we have not harnessed but I think together with the GFA, we have seen what the potential will be” said the CEO.

John Kofi Mensah announced that First Capital Plus would come up with innovations to make the league more attractive. “There is a standing committee on both sides that meet regularly to monitor and to move things forward. We are going to introduce new things in the football arena, something unique” he stated.

He therefore called on the general public to patronize the services and products of the bank.
“Whatever we are putting in, in terms of sponsorship amount comes from the income that we generate from our business. What we are expecting is that, the football fraternity will patronize our products. They should patronize First Capital Plus Bank. Together we will move this industry forward” he said.

The GFA President, Kwasi Nyantakyi who was present with some members of the Executive Council of the FA and the PLB, thanked First Capital Plus Bank for their wonderful support. He promised that, the FA would do its best to ensure that, the current partnership between the bank and the FA grows well to help develop the game.
