GHANA MUST APPOINT STRIKERS COACHES FOR NATIONAL TEAMS-SHILLA ALHASSAN

Former Asante Kotoko striker Shilla Alhassan is urging the Ghana FA to hire a striker’s coach to help improve the scoring rate of attackers in the Black Stars and all the other national teams.

“We have a lot of former strikers in Ghana. Some of them are doing coaching courses so I will advise the GFA to just organize those ex-Ghanaian strikers to become strikers coaches in all the national teams. I will be very happy with that,” Shilla Alhassan told Power FM.

The Black Stars recorded a total of 25 goals out of 8 games during the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup and 1 goal in friendly matches in the 3-1 loss to Japan and the 1-0 loss to Montenegro.

The Black Stars, who fell to a 1-0 defeat in the friendly match against Montenegro last week, will need to be more proficient in attack if Coach Kwasi Appiah’s lads are to progress from Group G of the World Cup, which comprises Germany, Portugal and the USA.

The former RTU goal-poacher, who worked as the Head Coach of the Tamale Utrecht Academy in 2013, has now established his own football academy.
