COMPEREHESIVE UPDATES ON GHANAIAN PLAYERS ABROAD




With the various leagues across Europe gradually coming to an end, Ghanaian players make waves for their respective clubs. 

Andre Ayew, Ebenezer Assifuah, Rabiu Mohammed and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu were all on target over the weekend for the respective clubs. SPORTS LOUNGE Frank Darkwah takes you through how Ghanaian players abroad fared over the weekend.



SPAIN
Richmond Boakye-Yiadom came on in the 52nd min and helped Elche beat Malaga 1-0 at the Estadio La Rosaleda.




ITALY
Youngster Kinsley Boateng was an unused substitute when Catania demolished AS Roma at the Stadio Angelo Massimino beating them 4-1. Isaac Cofie came on for injured Stefano Sturaro in the 17th min when Genoa were held to a 0-0 stalemate by Bologna. Impressive Afriyie Acquah enjoyed full action at the Stadio Ennio Tardini when Parma saw off Sampdoria as they won 2-0. Emmanuel Agyemang Badu played full game and scored in the 21st min to help Udinese trash Livorno 5-3 at home. Duo Sulley Muntari and Micheal Essien were included in the Milan squad that won 1-0 at the Stadio Guiseppe Meazza over City rival Inter Milan with Muntari coming on to play the last 18min for Milan. Essien on the other hand was an unused substitute for Milan.

In the Seria B, Isaac Ntow was left out of the Brescia squad that lost 1-3 at home to Empoli. Acosty Boadu-Maxawell was introduced in the 61st min for Carpi who managed a 2-0 win over US Pescara. In other games, Moro Alhassan warmed the Cesena bench when they secured a 2-0 win at home over US Avellino. Left back Masahudu Alhassan missed out when Latina went to draw 1-1 at Juve Stabia. Fiorentina loanee Amidu Salifu played full 90 min for Modena when they secured themselves all 3points by thrashing Siena 3-1.




GERMANY
Kelvin Prince -Boateng powered Schalke 04 to beat SC Freiburg 2-0 away. The Ghanaian international played the entire game for the Royal blues. Anthony Annan could not make the Schalke team. Ghanaian born German Karim Bellarabi was on the losing side as Eintracht Braunschweig lost 1-0 at home to FC Augsburg. The 23 year old was however substituted in the 88th min.

In the Bundesliga II, Marcel Appiah came on to play the last 23 min for Arminia Bielefeld when they drew 0-0 with FSV Frankfurt at home. Former Dreams FC and Asante Kotoko left back Abdul Baba Rahman was introduced in the 76th min and helped SpVgg Greuther Furth mesmerized Energy Cottbus 6-0. Charles Takyi was not in the Cottbus team.





NETHERLANDS
Elvis Manu was not in action for Cambuur Leewarden due to injury as they lost 1-2 to ADO Den Haag at home. Kwame Quansah played the first 45 min for SC Heracles Almelo in their 3-1 lost to FC Groningen. Fellow team mates Mathew Amoah and Edwin Gyasi were missing from the Heracles squad. Christian Atsu’s Vitesse Arnhem lost 2-1 to FC Utrecht. The Ghanaian international played full throttle. Mawouna Kadjo Amevor was a bench warmer when Go Ahead Eagles lost at home to Roda JC Kerkrade 1-0. Jeffery Sarpong came on to play the last 20 min for NAC Breda when they lost -2 to PSV Eindhoven. Ghanaian born Dutch Memphis Depay was on target for PSV. Mitch Apau was in action for RKC Waalwijk when they were humiliated at home as they lost 3-0 to Heerenveen. Shadrach Eghan could not get any min of time when Twente Enschede were held at home by PEC Zwolle as the game ended 2-2. Fred Benson came on to play the last 13min for Zwolle.



RUSSIA
Rabiu Mohammed came on and scored in the 79th min for Kuban Krasnodar when they thrashed Samara Kryliya Sovetov 4-0.



TURKEY
Jerry Akaminko was in the heart of defense for Eskisehirspor who lost heavily at home as they were thumped 4-1 by Kayserispor. Both Terric Jibril and Shaibu Yakubu were not in action when 1461 Trabzon won 4-0 over Tavsanli Linyitspor.



BELGIUM
Bernard Yao Kumordzi played when Racing Genk lost 1-2 at home to KSC Lokeren. Dutch born defender Jerry Vandam featured for Lokeren. Nana Kwasi Asare played full 90min for KAA Gent when they beat Lierse SK 4-0. Former Heart of Lions midfielder Abraham Kudermo came on and played the final 10 min for Royal Charleroi SC. In other games, Abdul Iddi Yakini came on in the 75th min for KV Mechelen as they drew with Cercle Brugge. Frank Acheampong was introduced in the 82nd min when he came on for Dennis Praet and helped Anderletcht beat Club Brugge 1-0.





SWEDEN
Defender Kwame Bonsu started and played 52 min for Mjallby who beat Halmstad 2-1 at home. Former Asante Kotoko and Black Meteos captain Yusif Chibsah came on in the 78th min for Djurgarden who secured a point away by drawing 1-1 with Atvidabergs FF. Fellow Ghanaian team mate Daniel Amartey was missing from the Djurgarden match day squad. Mohammed Abubarkar played for Atvidabergs FF. Both Nasiru Mohammed and Walid Atta were named in the Hacken team that won 2-1 at Malmo FF with Walid receiving his matching orders in the 66th min while Nasiru failed to get any min in the game. Former Ghana youth international and Heart of Lions striker Benjamin Fadi could not make the Malmo team.




SWITZERLAND
Ebenezer Assifuah scored the only goal for Sion Sitten when they won 1-0 over Lucerne. Ghanaian team mate Ishmeal Yartey also started for Sion.






ENGLAND
Derrick Boateng’s Fulham got relegated when they lost 4-1 to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. The Ghanaian international was however missing from the matchday squad of Fulham.

In the Championship, Emmanuel Frimpong was not included in the Barnsley squad that lost 2-3 to Queens Park Rangers. Youngster Nana Boakye-Yiadom was on the Barnsley bench. Jeffery Schullp dropped to the bench when Leicester City pip Doncater Rovers 1-0 at home. Albert Adomah played full game for Middlesbrough who thumped Yeovil Town 4-1. Defender Seth Ofori-Twumasi came on in the 52nd min for Yeovil.

Elsewhere in the League one, Curtis Obeng was booked in the 68th min and played the entire game for Stevenage who lost 2-0 to Brentford. David Amoo played 46min for Carlisle United when they lost 3-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderes.

In the League two, both Will Antwi and Kwasi Appiah played full 90min for AFC Wimbledon when they lost 3-2 to Accrington Stanley. Kwasi Appiah was however on target for Wimbledon. Patrick Agyemang could not feature for Portsmouth when they drew 3-3 at home with Plymouth.





SCOTLAND
Both Daniel Boateng and Prince Buabeng missed out from Hibernian and Partick Thistle squad as the game ended 1-1.



FRANCE
Jordan Ayew got on the score sheet once again to help Sochaux to an emphatic 2-0 win over OG NICE at home. Abdul Majeed Waris played full game but could not get on the score sheet when Valenciennes lost 1-0 at home to Bordaux. Andre Ayew was in superb form when Marseille beat Lyon 4-2 at the Stade Veladrome. Brawny defender Jonathan Mensah came on in the 76th min for Evian Thonon Gaillard who lost 1-0 at Reims.




PORTUGAL
David Nii Addy came on in the 73rd min and was booked 8min later Vitoria Guimaraes went away to draw with Acadamica de Coimbra. Youngster Nii Plange played full game for Guimaraes. Haminu Dramani was left out from the Gil Vicente squad who lost 1-0 to Arouca.



RUSSIA
Mubarak Wakasu was a 53min substitute for Rubin Kazan who beat Ural 1-0. The Ghanaian international was however shown the yellow card in the 70th min.



DENMARK
In the Superligaen Francis Dickoh was a full timer for FC Midtjylland who beat FC Vestsjaelland 3-1 at home. Danny Amankwah came on to play the last 7min for FC Koebenhavn who drew 1-1 at home with Broendy IF.





NORWAY
Former Hearts of Oak skipper Mahatma Ossmanu Otoo played the entire duration for Sogndal who lost 2-0 at Lillestroem. Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey mounted the post for Stroemsgodset when they victors over Bodoe/Glimt.



FINLAND
In the Velkkauslliga, Gideon Baah helped Helsinki beat VPS 2-0.
