GREAT OLYMPICS BEAT TEMA YOUTH TO QUALIFY TO ELITE DIVISION AFTER 4 YEARS ABSENCE

Accra great Olympics made a comeback to the elite division after 4 years when they managed a 2-1 win over Tema Youth at the Babayara Sports Stadium on Friday.

The “Agosu boys” who had won their two previous games beating Istanbul and Okwawu United respectively were hoping to make it three out of three as they came up against Tema Youth who had also won all two games.

It was Tema Youth who broke the dead lock in the 18th min through Prince Nyarko. Olympics however fought their way back when they equalize in the 43rd min after striker Razak Tahiru nodded home from a free kick.

Olympics got themselves in front 6 min into the second half when Joseph Armah scored to put his side in a 2-1 lead.

The game was however put on hold for close to 10min when the bank roller of Tema Youth Wilfred Osei Parma ordered his lads to walk off the pitch after complaining of bad officiating from center referee Joseph Lamptey.

But it took the intervention of King Faisal owner Alhaji Grunzah  to enable the Team based side return back to the field to continue the game.

The win means Olympics becomes the first team from division one to qualify for the 2014/2015 league season.
