SEE HOW BLACK STARS PLAYERS PAID TRIBUTE TO VICTIMS OF MAY 9TH DISASTER




Black Stars quartet Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Kwadwo Asamoah, Jonathan Mensah and Jerry Akaminko on Friday paid their tributes to the victims of the May 9th disaster as they tweeted to send their condolence to the families of the deceased persons.

Friday marked the 13th anniversary of the tragic moment in Ghana football as the country mourned the victims who were involved in the terrible incidence at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2001. And the Black Stars quartet did not leave themselves out as they joined the country to bewail the departed souls.

This is what they had to say:
Agyemang Badu: RIP to all the innocent lives lost on May 9th at the Accra Sports Stadium. Never forgotten


Kwadwo Asamoah: 13 years since the May 9th disaster that killed 100 football fans at the Accra Stadium. May their souls Rest in Peace.


Jonathan Mensah: RIP to all who lost their lives at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 9th 2001


Jerry Akaminko: Remembering all innocent lives lost at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 9th 2001. RIP


The May 9th Catastrophe happened during a league game between the two most glamorous clubs in the country, thus Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
