HEARTS OF OAK MIDFIELDER THOMAS ABBEY STARTS LIGHT TRAINING AFTER SUFFERING KNEE INJURY

Accra Hearts of Oak winger Thomas Abbey has started light training after suffering an injury last season in his side’s league fixture against relegated Amidaus Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The player suffered a cruciate knee ligament after he was brought down by Amidaus goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi and was immediately replaced by Isaac Mensah in the 64th minute in a game the Phobians won by 3-0.

The injury then ruled out the speedster from the remaining league fixtures in the 2013/14 season.

“Abbey has started light training after that injury. And we hope he recovers fully to join his team-mates”, a close source exclusively reveal to SPORTS LOUNGE.

The former Windy Professionals player will be hoping to recover fully and join his colleagues in their pre-season training ahead of the 2014/2015 season.
