Despite the
perceived sluggish display against the Oranje in the Netherlands last Saturday
at the De Kuip Arena, former Ghana Football Association Boss, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe,
believes the Black Stars still have the class to make an impact at the 2014
FIFA World Cup in
Brazil.
Notwithstanding their output last Saturday, the former FA president believes the Black Stars can go far at the FIFA tournament which kicks off on June 12.
“I think they were a bit sluggish in their game against the Netherlands especially in the beginning,” Tamakloe told Power FM.
“But the second half, they were ok. And am sure they will go far in the tournament.”
With the Stars best attempt at greatness being a quarter final berths, the Accra Hearts of Oak Board Member is expecting an even better performance in Brazil.
“With the sort of materials we have now, I can see them going very far,” Dr. Tamakloe said.
To stand any chance of bettering their quarter final appearance chalked four years ago in South Africa, The Black Stars would first need to deal with a tough Group G which also includes the USA, Germany and Portugal.
Ghana starts her campaign on June 16th against the USA in Natal.
