GHANA CRUSHED SOUTH KOREA 4-0 IN FINAL WARM UP GAME

The Black Stars of Ghana on Monday night beat South Korea 4-0 at the Sunlight Stadium in Miami [USA] in their final warm up game ahead of the World Cup tournament which kick starts in two days time.

Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah made nine changes in his starting lineup against Holland in the first warm up game last Saturday with Rabiu Mohammed and Kwadwo Asamoah being the only players to have earned a starting role in Monday’s game.

After a dawdling start from both sides in the early stages of the game, Ghana opened the scoring in the 11th minutes through Jordan Ayew who came on for Injured Majeed Waris in the 4th minutes after the striker lashed onto the ball to deflect Korean defender Kim Young-Gwon into his own net following a nice lay on pass from his brother Andre Ayew at the left hand side of attack.

The Korean’s who were very efficient in attack failed to bury the few chances that came their way as they looked naïve in front of goal.

The Black Stars shot themselves into a two goal lead just on the stroke of half time as skipper Asamoah Gyan took advantage of a mistake by a Korean defender to place the ball pass Jung Sung-Ryong in post for Korea to give Ghana a two goal lead at half time. His 40th goal for Ghana.

Jordan Ayew scored his second of the day and his 4th in the Black Stars shirt when he struck a powerful shot from 20 yards into the low bottom corner of the post to make it 3-0 after some excellent exchange of passes in front of the Korean goal area.

The 22 year old striker got his hatrick of the day when he put the icing on the cake in the 89th minutes after he tapped in an Albert Adomah’s perfect cross from the right hand side of attack to end the game 4-0 in favor the Black Stars as the team head to it’s difficult group at the World Cup which kick off on Thursday June 12.
