GHANA’S WORLD CUP OPPONENT USA THUMP TURKEY 2-1 IN PRE-WORLD CUP FRIENDLY






Facing Ghana in Natal on June 16th in their opening game at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, The United States got themselves on a perfect run by beating European side Turkey by two goals to one in a Pre-World Cup friendly in front of the large fans at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey [USA].
 
The United states who were playing their last but one game before the embark to Brazil had won two of their last three friendly games.

 Full back Fabian Johnson opened the scoring in the 26th minutes for the United States after he broke forward with a dating run and picked out over the top of the defense by Michael Bradley with a glorious ball to take it first time with inside of his boots.

US Captain Clint Dempsey scored the second for his side in the 52nd minutes after he took advantage of a terrible defending by the Turkish defence to tap home at his near post.

Jurgen Klinsman’s men could have scored some more goals in the game but failed to bury the numerous opportunities that came their way.

Turkey however got a consolation late in the game when they were awarded a penalty in the 90th minutes which saw midfielder Selcuk Inan sending United state goalkeeper Brad Guzan the wrong way to end the game 2-1 in favor of the Yanks.
