INJURY SCARE FOR GHANA’S WORLD CUP OPPONENT PORTUGAL AS DEFENDER PEPE SUFFERS HAMSTRING INJURY

Ghana’s World Cup opponent Portugal have been petrified after defender Ricardo Lima Pepe was forced off during Real Madrid’s champions League game with Bayern Munich at the Santiago Benebau.

The 31 year old center back suffered an hamstring after colliding with his goalkeeper Iker Casillas and was taken off in the 72nd min after the hard-hitting defender signaled he couldn’t continue.

Although the state of Pepe’s injury has not been confirmed, Portugal’s head coach Paulo Bento will be hoping his prolific defender will be available for the Navigators with fifty more days to the Global soccer fiesta.

The Black Stars face Portugal in their second group G match on June 26th in Natal.
