RETIRED REFEREE ALEX QUARTEY NOT PEEVED ON TURN OUT OF FA’S EXERCUTIVE MEMBERS AT KYEI ANDOH’S FUNERAL

Chairman of the referee’s Association of Ghana (RAG), referee retired Alex Quatey has indicated that the committee is not disappointed about the fact that the FA’s executive committee members could not turn up at Referee Kyei Andoh’s funeral.

Report indicates that none of the executive members of the FA turned up at the funeral of the 21 year old deceased referee who was allegedly handed severe beatings by fans of the home side in a Division One league match between Gold Stars and NaaJoe United, resulting in his death days later.

In an interview with Accra based Power FM, the retired FIFA referee said a delegation led by Mr. M.N.S Doe and the Western Regional football Association were present at the funeral hence they are not disappointed.

“I don’t think is a big news because the football Association informed us that an executive member thus Mr. Doe including the Western Region Association will attend the funeral so is not a big news that the executive committee didn’t attend. Mr. Doe he is an executive committee member and he led the delegation so we have accepted it”. The FIFA referee said.
