As the World cup is approaching, the January transfer window became a breathing ground for most Ghanaian players to move from one club to another in other to get more playing time ahead of the mundial.

BLACK MAIDENS TOUCH DOWN IN NIGERIA TO PLAY FALCONETS IN FRIENDLY






The national under 17 team, the Black maidens have touched down in the city of Lagos to play their Nigerian counterparts in an international  friendly.

The game which will take place on Saturday,3pm local time at the Lagos sports stadium will serve as a warm up game for both sides in preparation to the World cup in Costa Rica this year.

Ghana qualified to a 4th successive World Cup appearance after beating Equatorial Guinea 5-2 aggregate score line. Nigeria on the other hand saw off South Africa to book their place at the World Cup in Costa Rica.

Ghana and Nigeria are the two African Countries representing Africa in this year’s under 17 women World cup.

ASANTEHENE TO WATCH GHANA-LIBYA CHAN FINALS IN CAPE TOWN




Reports reaching SPORTS LOUNGE indicates that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will be at the green field Stadium in Cape town on Saturday night to watch the finals of the Championships of African nations(CHAN) between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Desert Hawks of Libya.

Otumfuo whom according to Close source is currently in South Africa for holidays will be in the stands to watch his team demolish Libya.

The game will see a repeat of the group stage of the same tournament where it ended in a 1-1 draw, and again see it to be an historic finals between the two as both side meet at the 1982 AFCON finals where Ghana won on penalties. That was the last time the Black Stars won a trophy in any major tournament.
 
The game will kick off at exactly 18:30 local time

FRIMPONG THANKS ARSENAL FANS ON TWITTER




Ghanaian born midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has thanked Arsenal fans for the support and love they gave to him at the Emirates just few hours after his signing to Championship side Barnsley.

The 22 year old who was signed from Arsenal in an undisclosed fee on Friday afternoon wrote on his official twitter handle thanking AFC fans.

“AFC thank you for the memories thanks for the support thanks for the Love. I wish the team wins the league this year,” he said via his Twitter handle.
 
Frimpong has been with the Gunners for the past 13 years and had only managed 16 appearance ever since joining the senior team in 2009.

The Kumasi born made the move in his quest to earn a place in Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah’s squad ahead of the World cup.

EMMANUEL FRIMPONG JOINS CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE BARNSLEY

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has Joined Championship side for Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old agreed a six-month permanent deal with the Reds in a bid to earn more game time ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

According to an official announcement from the Championship side, the Ghana international will be at Oakwell until June 30, 2014.

Frimpong has been with the Gunners over the past 13 years and has made 16 appearances for the senior side after graduating from the Arsenal Academy.

The Ghanaian born will be hoping to make Kwasi Appiah’s squad ahead of the 2014 FIFA World cup in Brazil.
