Head
coach of the Local Black Stars Maxwell Konadu has expressed the respect he has
for Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi.
The
Black Stars will come face to face with bitter rivals Super Eagles on Wednesday at the Semi final
stage of the ongoing CHAN tournament at the Free State Stadium in South Africa.
There
have been numerous speculation on the game about who is the better of the two
sides. Nigeria who have been in great form ever since the tournament started
have been tipped by many soccer fans as the favorite to win the Wednesday evening
tier, while Ghana who have been under a lot of pressure about their unconvincing
performance will be looking forward to put their critics wrong this time
around. But the former Asante Kotoko
trainer has expressed the respect he has for his fellow coach.
“I really respect Stephen Keshi, especially on
what he has done for Nigeria football as both a player and a coach. He has great pedigree in Africa football and some
of us will always like to emulate him”. The Black Stars trainer said in an
interview with an Accra based radio station Montie fm.
Nigeria
came from 3 goals down to beat Morocco 4-3 at the quarter final stage while
Ghana on the other hand humbled the DR Congo by 1-0 to advance to the semi
finals.
The
Black Stars of Ghana will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday
night at the Free State Stadium at exactly 18:30 local time.
