The
Ghana Football Association GFA has explained
the accreditation measures from FIFA for Media houses in the country.
Speaking
with the media yesterday in a press conference at the GFA Secretariat at Ridge,
the FA spokes person Ibrahim Sannie Darra said only 13 media houses in the
country will get accreditation from FIFA to cover this year’s FIFA mundial in Brazil. According to the FA communication
director, FIFA has allocated all rights to the Ghana Broadcasting Cooperation (GBC)
and that any media house in Ghana wherether radio, tv or print must acquire the
rights from GTV.
“
Any media house interested in acquiring rights to cover the World Cup must
contact George Lomotey of GTV fame”. Sannie said at the press conference.
He
further on went on to say all media
houses who will be given the rights to cover the event must visit the official FIFA
website (FIFA media channel ) for their control numbers and key.
“The
FA will prune down all Applications from the various media houses to 13 who
will have the sole rights to cover the event”. The spokes person added.
According
to Sannie, deadline for the accreditation of Forms is on the 31st
of January 2014. Meaning all media houses in the country who are interested in acquiring
rights to cover the event have got less than 10 days to apply for the accreditation
forms from the FA headquarters.
