Ghanaian boxer Osumanu
Adama and WBA and IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan
will be locking horns on Saturday night
in a middleweight title fight.
The fight which will take
place at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco(France).Both fighters
weighed in at 159.2, comfortably within the 160 lb. divisional limit.
The Ghanaian boxer will be
facing the Kazakhstan-born puncher who has
scored 15 straight knockouts, including four impressive stoppage wins in a 2013
campaign that saw his name land high on Fighter of the Year lists.
Adama (22-3, 16KO) aims for
a major title in his second try. His first attempt resulted in a points loss to
Daniel Geale in their March ’12 middleweight title fight. The transplanted
Ghanaian, now based outside of Chicago, has won two straight.
The show serves as Golovkin’s
second trip to Monte Carlo as his first
appearance resulted in one of the best knockouts of 2013, drilling normally
durable Nobuhiro Ishida in three rounds.
