Former
national tennis star Eric Addo believes that playing some international
competitions before the Commonwealth games in July will boost for a better
performance.
In an interview, the former Ghanaian
international mentioned that that current players in the national team must be exposed
to international competitions ahead of the games in Scotland later this year.
Addo
who represented Ghana in the All African games in Nigeria and the Commonwealth
games in Australia noted that handlers of the team must prepare the team so that
the team can compete in minor Championships before the before the main
commonwealth games.
“We
have never been to any international competition and without that there is no
way they can go to the Commonwealth games and conquer .You have to remember
they have got world Championship on the
line and if they go and do not bring
back any medal are able we will that
they have gone to make an impact”. He said.
“
Even if they go and not bring back any medal they can learn something and when
they come back and go to the commonwealth games they can do well, but for now if
you ask me at this stage I will say no no”. He added.
The
national table tennis team are preparing for the upcoming Common Wealth games.
