GBA PRESIDENT ASK FOR GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Lawyer Peter Zwennes says the GBA is still expecting the Sports Minister Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah to fulfil its promises to the development of Ghana boxing, despite the lack of financial support from government over the last 10 months.

In February this year when Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah assumed office as the Sports Minister, the 46-year-old politician assured the GBA that government will make financial commitments to the development of boxing and the construction of the nation’s first gymnasium for the sport of pugilism but no action has been taken as yet.

Though the GBA is currently funding Ghana boxing, Lawyer Peter Zwennes believes Sports Minister Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah will live up to his promises to Ghana boxing.
