FIFA boss Sep Blatter has lashed an attack on the Brazilian football Association for the
slow pace of work so far on the 12 stadia’s for this years mundial. Blatter hit
out after half of Brazil’s 12 host stadiums failed to meet Fifa’s Dec 31
deadline for completion.
Six of the stadiums were ready
for last year's Confederations Cup. One of the remaining six was symbolically
delivered on New Year's Eve, although it won't be fully ready until the end of
the month.
The Swiss highlighted the fact that Brazil was
given almost seven years to prepare for the tournament, more time than previous
hosts.
In an interview with Swiss newspaper 24 Heures
,the 77 year old said “No. Brazil has just found out what it means and has
started work much too late. No country has been so far behind in preparations
since I have been at Fifa, even though it is the only host nation which has had
so much time .seven years ,in which to prepare.
The 12 Stadiums reported to host
this years fiesta are Taipava Arena Pernambuco, Arena da Amazônia, Arena
Pantanal, Arena das Dunas, Estádio do Maracanã, Arena de Itaquera, Estadio
Mineirao, Arena da Baixada, Estadio Nacional de Brasilia, Arena Castelao, Arena
Fonte Nova, and Estadio Jose Pinheiro Borda.
The Fifa World Cup will kick
start from 12th June to 13th
July this year.
