Ghanaian
football fans are appealing to Electricity service providers, the electricity
company of Ghana (ECG), the Ghana GRID Company and the Volta Regional Authority
(VRA) to ensure smooth supply of power during the 2014 World Cup season.
Electricity
supply in several part of the country has been interrupted unannounced and most
football fans fear the erratic power supply will continue during the mundial
with some soccer enthusiast considering the purchase of generators with 15 days
to the tournament.
ECG, GRIDCO
and VRA have announced that the erratic power supply is due to the maintenance
challenges, but football fans expect the situation to improve before the World
Cup.
The 2014
FIFA World Cup kicks start on June 12.
