Black Stars
midfielder Sulley Muntari has thrown a word of caution to his Black Stars team
mates hinting that they must concentrate ahead of the World Cup.
According to
the 28 year old, he and his colleagues will need not to do anything but to focus
on the task ahead of them at this point in time.
“I think at
this point in time we have to concentrate. That is very important. I think we
should think about what we did last four years because people are expecting
much from us. We should concentrate and by the time we realize we will be very
far”, Muntari told Ace Sports Journalist and TV3 Sports presenter Julliet
Bewuah at his garage in Italy.
The AC Milan
man also called for team unity saying unanimity within the players will also
help Ghana go far in the competition.
“I think we
also need to play as a team as we have been doing for long. Nothing can come
between us as long as we have unity among us. I have played in lots of games.
National team off course is different from club side. What I know is that our
team is the best team ever. Probably we might not have the best players but we
have the best team because we are together and that is the most important thing”,
he added.
Muntari’s
rich experience in the Black Stars team has depicted him as one of the leaders
in the squad after representing the stars in all two previous World Cups. Thus
in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
