Ghana
midfielder Michael Essien has described the current Black Stars squad as the
best Ghana will be parading at the FIFA World cup.
According to
the 31 year old who is currently not part of the team in their non-residential
camp in Accra, the quality in the squad especially in midfield will enable the
team have multiple options at the various positions.
“The squad
for this tournament is the best Ghana has to offer, and the quality in depth is
extremely good, especially in midfield. We have multiple options in most
positions which is always a plus for any side”, Essien told FIFA.COM
The “Bison”
who plays for Italian giants AC Milan will on the contrary be hoping to add his
rich vein of experience in the midfield at the Mundial in Brazil.
Essien who
missed the last edition of the World Cup in South Africa through injury will be
making his second appearance at the competition after making an appearance in
2006 and helping Ghana to a 1/16 stage finish.
