can exclusively reveal that the Burkina Faso Ambassador to Ghana together with
a couple of delegation has sent a petition letter to his majesty Otumfuo Osei
tutu II to try as much as possible to investigate the issue of Asante Kotoko
Burkinabe goalkeeper Sulaima Abdulaye for allegedly taking bribe in the
Porcupine warriors Champion League clash against BYC of Liberia.
The 33 year old Burkina Faso national team
goalkeeper has been allegedly charged to have taken bribe from officials of BYC
ahead of their Clash with Kotoko. But the former Asfa Yenega shot stopper has
denied the allegation put by him.
In
an interview with Montie fm, management member of the Club Ali Maradona
revealed saying “ As at now the Burkina Faso Ambassador to Ghana today
submitted a letter to Menhyia. He came all the way from Accra to Menhyia here
to deliver the letter . He also gave a copy to the Asante Kotoko team, and
according to him some various individuals are trying to tarnish the image of
the Burkina Faso international here in Ghana, and the President of the country
and him as an Ambassador will not allow that to happened”.So they brought a
letter for Otumfuo himself to take a decision on the issue.
“
They have also selected a delegation to investigate on the issue in other to
put things in the right way. They also
made mention of the fact they will make sure the law deals with anyone who will
be caught to be involved in this allegation to their number one goalkeeper.
Less than 2 hours ago they escorted Sulaima to the central Police station to
file for a report”. He said.
All
this allegation came about after reports said the goalkeeper allowed in a
harmless ball in the dying embers of the game between Asante Kotoko and BYC in
Monrovia which eventually saw the Kumapem lads being eliminated from this
year’s CAF Champions League on the away goal rule after a 2-2 aggregate score
line.
