Vice
Chairman of the national under 17 team (Black Maidens), Samuel Oduro Nyarko has revealed that the
Black maidens are yet to emplane to the US for their training tour ahead of
their World Cup campaign next month.
The
Maidens who had 13 of their players denied visas by the US embassy last week were
all granted visas on Monday after the intervention of the sports minister.
Oduro Nyarko confirmed.
But
according to the Vice Chairman, the team is yet to leave the country for their training
tour as they are waiting for money from the Sports Minister to acquire
traveling tickets.
“We
are waiting for the minister to tell us when to go. We are waiting for him to
give us money. And if all thing works out well, I believe we will leave latest
by Thursday”. He spoke with Power FM.
Ghana
is scheduled to have their training tour in Alabama (USA).
The
Black Maidens have been paired with stiff oppositions Germany, North Korea and
Canada, and will be hoping to at least make a repeat of the stunning
performance they put up two years ago in Azerbaijan when they won bronze.
