Ghanaian
midfielder Micheal Essien was in superb form for AC Milan when the Rosseneri
lost 3-1 away at Napoli on Saturday night.
The
31year old who played full throttle of the game gave a good account of himself
as he paired up with Dutch man De Jong in midfield, but could not help Milan
avoid defeat at the Stadio Sao Paulo.
The
midfielder who completed 76 passes had a shot on goal in the 65th
min after taking in a right footed volley just on the edge of the box but was
timely saved by Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
Milan
new signing Adel Taraabt opened the scoring just 4min into the game before
Napoli midfielder Gokar Inlar equalized with a stunner 6min later.
Argentine
forward Gonzalo Higuian added two more goals in the second half to ensure the
Rosseneri’s went back to San Siro without picking any points.
Essien
will be hoping to keep his fine form and feature next week in Milan’s next fixture
at home.
