can exclusively reveal that the Ghana football Association has put in place
measures to take the Ghana premier league players through doping test.
According
to the FA, the Association has received numerous information stating that most players
in the domestic league use performance enhancing drugs ahead of games to boost
their energy level during football games.
The
FA’s medical officer Dr. Prince Pambo said the FA has assigned him to ensure
that the exercise takes place. According to him, the executive committee of the
Ghana football Association have had a meeting to ensure that they have a very
competitive league.
“The
executive committee of the Ghana football Association has had several meetings
and we are going to ensure that we have a competitive league . We don’t want to
just look at how people play but also know what they do before”.
“
We want to see to it that opposing side who are contending for a trophy are
contending on the field of fair play. We want to see to it that they don’t use
any performance enhancing drugs, and these drugs of course if they do give you
performance enhancement, they also have a side effect as well on our players
and I think the FA is going to ensure that the sanity in our league is brought
up. He told Accra based radio station, Montie FM.
The
League resumes and enters its week 18 on Wednesday 26th February .
