GHANAIAN QUARTET RECORD WINS IN AFRICA

Asante Kotoko opened their CAF Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win over Barrack Young Controllers at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.
Defender Kwabena Adusei gave Kotoko the lead in the 42nd minute and Pupo equalized for the Liberian outfit with one minute to half time.

25 minutes into the second half, Kwabena Adusei struck again, but this time from the penalty spot to hand the Porcupine Warriors the match winner after BYC goalie Sherman fouled Seidu Bancey in the penalty box.

Elsewhere at the Golden City Park, Owusu Jackson scored a brace to hand Berekum Chelsea a 2-0 win over Atlabara FC in the other CAF Champions League preliminary tie.

In Malabo, Medeama SC got their CAF Confederations Cup campaign to a good start after registering a crucial 2-1 away win over Panthers of Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

New signing Michael Helegbe and Samuel Nzemaba found the back of the net to hand the Tarkwa based side the advantage ahead of the reverse encounter at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium next weekend.

In Cape Coast, striker Richard Gadze scored the only goal of the game to hand Ebusua Dwarfs a 1-0 win over visiting ASC Jaaraf at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday.
