Accra
Hearts of Oak number one goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has asked supporters of
Accra Hearts of Oak to remain calm about the recent abysmal performance by the
Club.
Many
Hearts fans have raised consents about the current poor performance put up by
the club but the former Fayenood shot stopper says these are trial moments and
urge the supporters to stay calm and that things will surely turn around.
“For
now I know these are hard times for them. They really fought for what they
wanted but they never had it. Most of them have gone to their shelf. I will
appeal to them. I will like to tell them that what has happened has happened
and they should bear in mind that Accra Hearts of Oak is a family and we can be
without them”. He told SPORTS LOUNGE.
“We
have a pillar and they are part of the pillars. They are the only people the
team is having and am appealing to them that whatever happened should be put
behind. We feel for them also. We are also not happy about the results. We
really appealing to them to come together and support the club to where we to
be”. He added.
After
16 League games, the team lie on the 4th position with 27 points. 7
point adrift arch rivals Asante Kotoko
who has 34 points and lie top of the League table. Hearts of Oak will be hoping
to secure a win over Aduana Stars in their week 17 fixture at
Dormaa.
