Ghana
prodigious striker Abdul Majeed Waris hit his first brace for Valencienne in
their 2-2 draw game with Sochaux at the Stade du Hainaut on Saturday night.
The
22 year old opened the scoring through a spot kick in the 51st min
but Sochaux had the equalizer 3 min later through Sabastien Corchia. The
Ghanaian wonder kid netted his 2nd of the night 4 min from time
which almost seemed as the winner only for Sochaux defender Florian Marange
grabe a late equalizer in the 88th min to make it even.
Fellow
Ghana international Jordan Ayew was in action for Sochaux but was substituted
in the 82nd min.
This
means the former Right to Dream Academy forward who is on loan from Russian
side Spartak Moscow has scored four goals in 7 appearances for the Les
Atheniens.
Valecienne
are currently lying 19th on the log with 26 point out of a possible
75.
Majeed
Waris will be hoping to keep his impressive form ahead of the global soccer fiesta
in Brazil.
