GHANA MIDFIELDER YUSIF CHIBSAH SIGNS FOR TURKISH SIDE ANTALYASPOR

Ghanaian international Yusif Alhassan Chibsah have sealed a move to Turkish first division side Antalyaspor from Djurgarden IF after spending two seasons with the Blue Stripes in the Swedish top-flight.

Chibsah, who is former player of Ghana Champions Asante Kotoko made 57 league appearances for Djurgarden in his two years stint at the Tele2 Arena, Johanneshov.

The 30-year old finally leaves Sweden after seven years of playing in the North European country where he first joined Gefle IF in 2007 from Asante Kotoko.

In a statement issued by Djurgarden sports director Bosse Andersson, he indicated Chibsah’s contribution to the team and also wished him well at his new Club.

“He has done a great job in DIF on and off the pitch and we wish him good luck. We feel we have other players who can cover up his position,” he said.

“He has been in Sweden for a long time and will now have a chance to get away for retirement. We have had discussions about his future and when this opportunity came up; we think he was well worth it. We agree and thank him for his effort in Djurgarden.”

The former Black Meteors captain will be hoping to use his rich experience gained in Sweden to help Antalyaspor achieve laurels in the Turkish second-tier.
