The President of the Ghana football Association, lawyer
Kwasi Nyantekyi has clearly indicated that he is ready to step down as the
chairman of the Black Stars management committee.
Kwasi Nyantekyi, who was the leader of delegation and the
chairman of the Black Stars management team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil,
has come under severe criticism ever since electing himself to head the
position.
Many have called on Nyantekyi to vacate the position which
was held by former management chairman now chairman of the local Black Stars
team Fred Pappoe after Ghana’s abysmal performance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Ghanaian football enthusiast and pundits have attributed
Ghana’s poor display at the World Cup to the mismanagement of affairs by the management
team which was led by the CAF Executive committee member.
In an exclusive interview with Peace FM’s head of Sports
Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Nyantekyi revealed that he will vacate the position as soon
as there is a review of committees.
“I have notice Ghanaians are really worried over it. I
think there are many people around who can take up the position as the
management committee chairman”, he said.
“When is time for the review of the management committee,
maybe you might not see me as the management committee chairman. I have accepted
to vacate that position”, he added.
The GFA is yet to announce a date for the review of the
management committees of all the varoius national teams. Thus [Black Stars,Local
