Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association,
George Afriyie has lambasted Sulley Muntari by describing the midfielder’s act
as one to have “behaved like an animal”.
Sulley, was involved in a burst up with management committee
member Moses Armah Parker during a meeting at the team’s camping base in Maceio
[Brazil] over an unpaid bonus prior to Ghana’s final group game against
Portugal.
The 28-year old has
been suspended by the Ghana FA following a back and forth confrontation with
the Medeama owner after he got incensed with a comment made by “Moseparker”
which eventually lead to the AC Milan star launching ‘an unprovoked physical
attack on the Executive Committee member.
George Afriyie who is a member of the FA Executive committee
and was present at the time of the incidence in an interview with Accra-based
Asempa Fm portrayed Muntari’s act as “animalistic”.
“Muntari behaved like an animal. Yes, am using the word
animal. Yes quote me. Am not afraid”, he said.
“I have never seen
Muntari like that before in my life. I know him. There has been series of
Muntari’s problem over the years in the Black Stars. But what I witnessed with
my eyes was not an act of a human being. Yes am saying it”, he added.
“The facts that you have money or you are playing for AC
Milan doesn’t mean you are above everybody. The man slapped “Moseparker” two
times unprovoked. It is not as if Moses parker said something wrong. Am saying
it because he is my colleague and tomorrow it could be me”.
Muntari is currently serving an indefinite suspension from
the Ghana FA.
