GFA
President Kwasi Nyantakyi has depicted the unfortunate incidence between Black
Stars player Sulley Muntari and FA Executive committee member Moses Armah
Parker.
Ghana’s participation at this year’s FIFA World Cup has
been described as a fiasco after the team’s camp was hit by a number of ill-fated
occurrences, with the burst up between Sulley Muntari and Moses Parker being
the subject of discussion over the past few weeks.
Muntari according to reports attacked “Mosesparker”
unprovoked after he overly got furious by a comment made by the Medeama owner
during a meeting between the management team and the playing body at the team’s
camping base in Maceio [Brazil].
The FA president who was at the scene of the unfortunate
incidence has therefore described what happened between the player and the executive
committee member.
“It wasn’t a slap. It was a knock. There was an assault, an
unprovoked attack on Moses .A punch and another punch [smiles]”.
“Two punches from one person. He [Moses] responded with one
reply I think so. So is 2-1[said in a jovial manner and smiles]. When the first
punch went, Moses looked at me and I said Moses don’t respond. And he obliged
my request”.
“Then I tried to intervene, before we could say “Jack”
there was another punch. I believe by natural instinct he [Moses] also responded.
I think he exercise the highest degree of restraint”.
“There was a glass thrown at him [Moses], I stopped it with
my hands and it broke into pieces”. [smiles again].
Ghana for the first time failed to reach the knockouts
stage of the World Cup after managing to collect only one point in a group
which was adjudged to be a “group of death” consisting the likes of Germany,
Portugal and the USA.
