ACCRA POLY TO HOST 2014 WEST AFRICA POLYTECHNIC GAMES




Ghana’s premier Polytechnic Accra Polytechnic will host the 2014 West Africa Polytechnic games.

The WAPOGA games which is organized by the West Africa Polytechnics Association every year will see twenty six Polytechnic across the West Africa sub-region participating in thirteen disciplines in this year’s event.

In a Press Conference with the media, the Rector of Accra Polytechnic, Professor Atsio says the Polytechnic will need an amount of $500,000 to host this year’s competition.

Among the Participating schools will be Delta State Polytechnic, Federal Polytechnic, Kaduna Polytechnic, Kanu State Polytechnic, Kings Polytechnic, Dorben Polytechnic, Benue Polytechnic, Lagos State Polytechnic, Templegate Polytechnic, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic etc. 

While the Host Accra Polytechnic, Tarkoradi Poly, Koforidua, Kumasi Poly etc will represent Ghana.

His Excellency the president of Ghana John Dramani Mahama who is the Chairman for the ECOWAS Committee will be the guest of honor for this year’s tournament. 

The competition which is slated to take place in the month of August will be the third edition of the WAPOGA games
