WA ALL STARS BEAT KOTOKO TO HAMPER DESIRE TO WRAP LEAGUE TITLE

League Leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko were denied of clinching the league title with three matches to go after they lost 1-3 to Wa All Stars at the Tamale Stadium in their midweek fixture of the first capital premier league on Wednesday.

The Porcupine warriors who were playing home away from home failed to impress their sparsely seated fans in Tamale when they went down to the “Blues”.

Two goals from Micheal Mensah who is on loan at All Stars from Kotoko and a goal from midfielder Ishmael Ganiyu saw the Wa based said grab all three points. Asante Kotoko’s top scorer Seidu Bancey got the consolation for the Kumapem lads.

The defeat essentially hampered the defending champions their desire to wrap the league title earlier than expected. The lost means the porcupine warriors would have to beat New Edubiase in Bekwai to confirm their league title feat.

The reds still lie top of the table with 51points.
