Inter Allies
were able to keep their impressive form under Coach Hebert Addo when they
managed a 2-0 win over Secondi Hasaccas at the Tema Park on Saturday afternoon.
Inter Allies
who lied 14th going into match day 24 had only managed 25 points out
of a possible 69. The premier League debutants opened the scoring in the 31st
min when midfielder Safiu Fatau Abdul connected a pass from Burkinabe import
Kabore Yaussouf to slot home from close range.
Allies who
looked more purposeful upfront awarded themselves with a second goal in the 44th
min when Senegalese international Ndiaye Talla perfectly volleyed in a cross
from Prosper Kassim to end the first half with a 2-0 lead.
Hasaccas
coach Yusif Basigi made a quick change in the second half when he brought on
under 20 and local Black Stars forward Samuel Afful for Micheal Boakye who had
been a pale in a shadow of himself throughout the entire first half. Afful’s
introduction seemed to have sparked up the Hasaccas attack as he combined
perfectly with Joseph Mugre upfront, creating some few descent chances for the
Gyendu boys.
It seemed
Hebert Addo who was on the bench for Inter Allies was contented with the 2-0
lead as he did not want to take any risk bringing on the likes of George
Asamoah and Ahertor Daniel to stabilize his midfield. Inter Allies could have
made it three in the dying embers of the game when Ndiaye Talla beat two
defenders and tried to catch Hasaccas goalkeeper Samuel Akurugu on his lines.
But the Hasaacas gloves man was kick to react as he tipped the ball to corner.
The Tema
based side however kept their momentum and made sure they did not concede as
referee Saidu Bomison blew his final whistle to bring proceedings to an end
with Inter Allies grabbing all three points into their bag.
The win
however keeps Allies hope alive as they jumped to the 13th position
with 28 points.
