Manager of Asante Kotoko believes the indefinite home ban from the Baba Yara
Stadium handed the Porcupine Warriors will not affect their title hopes.
The ban imposed on the defending league champions means Kotoko might miss their remaining home matches in the first capital plus premier league including their crucial encounter with sworn rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
In an interview with Accra based Power Sports , the former Asante Kotoko player now administrator has quelled fears the ban could inflict threat on their successive title hopes.
“I don’t think it will affect it. That shouldn’t come in at all, and in league matches you don’t only play home. You have home and away matches. The only thing that will affect us is the financial cost. With that one, I think it will have an impact on us,” he said.
“But with the games, I don’t think it can stop us from becoming champions for the third time; I don’t think so. We are focused and our dream is about to happen so we will not let it away at this moment,” he added.
Asante Kotoko are lying top of the log with 50 points, ten more than second-placed Hearts of Lions. The reds will next travel to face Secondi Hassacas at the Essipong Stadium in a match-day 25 fixture of the First Capital plus Premier league on Wednesday, April 16.
