CONFIRMED: AYITTEY POWERS SIGNS TO FIGHT BUKOM BANKU BUT FIGHT MIGHT BE SHIFTED TO 23RD APRIL






SPORTS LOUNGE can confirm that Micheal Okine aka Ayittey Powers has penned down an agreement to fight long term rival Bukom Banku after a meeting with the organizers (Box Office Promotion) of the much awaited Judgment day bout.

The second signing ceremony for the big bout which was called at the instance of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) was called off after Ayittey Powers said he needed to consult his spiritual father for further advice.

In an interview with GH ONE “The Game”, President of the Ghana Boxing Association, Peter Zweenes confirmed that all is set for the much anticipated bout between the two boxers.

“The meeting we had today was called at the instance of the ball itself giving the development at the situation. And what we were supposed to do at the meeting was to take a decision to sign of the failure of the supplementary contract,” He said

“ And if the meeting had gone ahead we would have referred the matter to the disciplinary committee of the GBA and take the necessary step, but he (Ayittey Powers) took the wind out of our tales, he came in much earlier just as the meeting was about to start and submitted that he was ready to fight. He came with his manager and his trainer and he signed his fortune of the contract”. 

He signed for the 16th of May just like Bukom Banku had signed earlier. But the promoters of the fight, the sponsors and the two camps are having a press conference on Wednesday and it is most likely that the definite date that both parties would have agreed on is 23rd of May that is the week after the 16th “.

The much anticipated fight has hit the air waves for the past 3-4 months and is likely to be one of the biggest fights in the history of Ghana Boxing.
