COMPRENHESIVE UPDATES ON GHANAIAN PLAYERS ABROAD





Ghanaian players Abroad made waves for their respective clubs over the weekend with the likes of Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Richmond Boakye Yiadom and Majeed Waris getting on the score sheet for their various clubs. SPORTS LOUNGE Frank Darkwah brings you a comprehensive updates on how Ghanaian players fared for the various Clubs over the weekend.

FRANCE
Andre Ayew scored three times as Marseilles cruised to a 3-1 victory over AS Ajaccio on Friday night. Younger brother Jordan Ayew found his scoring boots after 4 weeks when he scored in Sochaux’s 2-2 stalemate with Bastia away. In other games defender John Boye came on in the 81st min to replace Cameroonian Juan Makoun when they went to draw 2-2 at the Stade Jacques Chban-Belmas with Bordaux. Jonathan Mensah came on in the 78th min for Evian when the they secured a 1-1 draw with Lorient on Saturday night. Abdul Majeed Waris scored his ninth goal for Valenciennes when they lost 1-2 to Lyon.

GERMANY
Kelvin Prince Boateng was in top form when Schalke drew 1-1 away with Werder Bremen. The former AC Milan Star played full throttle with fellow Ghanaian Anthony Annan warming the Schalke bench.
In the Bundesliga 2, Marcel Appiah was in the heart of defense for Bielefield who lost 2-0 to FC Cologne. Charles Takyi watched the game from the bench when Energie Cottbus drew 0-0 at home with Dynamo Dresden.



USA
In the Major League Soccer, both Partrick Nyarko and Quincy Amarikwa were in the starting lineup for Chicago when they drew 2-2 at home with Philadelphia Union, with the former being substituted in the 77th min. Dominic Oduro played 81 min for Columbus Crew when they lost 2-0 at home to Toronto FC. Former under 20 midfielder Gershon Koffie started the game for Voncouver Whitecaps and was substituted in the 54th min when they where piped 2-1 at home by Colorado. Both Kalif Alhassan and Mamodou Danso were named in the match day squad for Portland Timbers who drew 4-4 at home with Seattle Sounders FC with Alhassan tasting full action while Danso could only watched from the bench. Lloyd Sam enjoyed 90 min for New York Red Bull who held Montreal Impact to a 2-2 draw away. Ghanaian born American Nana Attakora sat on the bench and inspired DC United to a 2-0 win over New England at home. 20 year old midfielder Kofi Sarkodie played the full 90 min for Houston but could not help them avoid a humiliating 1-4 loss at home to FC Dallas.
SCOTLAND
Prince Buaben came on in the 54th min to feature for Partick Thistle who lost 2-4 to Heart of Midlothian.

ITALY
Youngster Isaac Donkoh the Inter Milan team who were held to a 2-2 draw by Bologna at home.  18 year old Kingsley Boateng was on the bench for Catania when they lost 2-1 at home to Torino. Workaholic Emmanuel Agyemang Badu played 85 min for Udinese and got himself booked in the 35th min when they lost by 2-1 to Fiorentina. Rahman Chibsah came on to play the last 4min for Sassoulo who managed to beat Atalanta 2-0.
In the seria B, Acosty Boadu Maxwell came on in the 72nd min to help Carpi to a vital 3-2 away win at Trapani. Amidu Salifu featured the entire min for Modena who beat Lanciano 3-1 at their own backyard. Left back Masahudu Alhassan played 90 min for Latina who secured a 1-0 win over Reggina. Nii Nortey Ashong was on the bench for Spezia who were held to a 2 all draw with Padova. Moro Alhassan came on in the 70th min to inspire Cesena to a 2-0 win over Ternana.

ENGLAND
In the English Championship Emmanuel Frimpong dropped to the bench when Barnsley drew 0-0 at the Oakwell Stadium with Brighton & Hove Albion. Seth Ofori-Twumasi came on and got booked in the 90th min when his side Yeovil Town went to beat Blackpool by 2-2. Winger Albert Adomah who has hit an impressive form since joining Middlesbrough played almost the entire game for Boro when they beat Derby County 1-0 at home. The Ghanaian international was however was substituted in the 90th min. Jeffery Schulpp helped Liecester to gain qualification to the English Premier League.



SOUTH AFRICA
Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dawda dropped to the bench when Orlando Pirates lost 1-0 to Supersports United. Defender Edwin Gyimah was in the captain’s band for Supersports and played the entire duration. Former Wa All Stars midfielder John Awuah tasted full time for Amuzulu who beat Free State Stars 2-1 at home. Former Liberty and under 20 goalkeeper Daniel Agyei was on the Free State Stars bench as he lost his place to South African goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng. In other games, Rashid Sumaila dropped to the bench one more time when Memalodi Sundowns beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at the FNB Stadium

SPAIN
Midfielder Fatau Mohammed played 90 min for Granada when they lost 1-4 to Malaga on Sunday night. Richmond Boakye Yiadom came on to score the only goal for Elche when they beat Getafe 1-0. Thomas Partey tasted 85 min for Mallorca when they lost narrowly to Luga by 2-1 at the Anso Carro.

NETHERLANDS
Elsewhere in the Eredivision, Francis Dickoh was out from FC Utrecht squad who lost heavily by 4-1 to ADO Den Haag. Dutch born Ghanaian midfielder Mitch Apau lasted the entire duration for RKC Waalwijk who lost by 2-0 to Feyenoord Rotterdam. Christian Atsu Twasam tasted full action for Vitessi Arnhem who drew 1-1 at home with Ajax. Former Holland under 17 forward Jeffery Sarpong saw full action for NAC Breda who lost 0-2 at home to Twente Enschede. Ghanaian youngster Shadrach Kwasi Eghan was missing from the Twente team. Feyenord loanee Elvis Manu played 90 min for Cambuur Leeuwarden but could not find the back of the net when they drew 1-1 away at NEC Nijmegen.  Both Kwame Quansah and Mathew Amoah were in action for Heracles Almelo when they lost by 2goals to 1 at home to Go Ahead Eagles with Quansah getting himself booked in the 65th min. Amoah was however substituted in the 73rd min. Ghanaian teenager Mawouna Kodjo Amervo played the entire game for GAE and got booked in the 29th min.
In the Eerste Divisie Patrick Amoah was a bench warmer for Fortuna Sittard who won 3-2 away at Sparta Rotterdam.



 TURKEY
Jerry Akaminko mounted the Eskisehirspor defends when they went away to draw at Akhisar Belediye.

GREECE
Samuel Inkoom played 90 min for Platanias when they beat Panetolikos 1-0 at home. Ghanaian team mate Aziz Tetteh was got himself injured and was substituted in the cause of the game.

BELGUIM
In the Jupilar league, Frank Acheampong returned to the Anderletch bench when they beat Club Brugge at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. Nana Kwasi Asare played at left back when KAA Gent lost 0-1 to Lierse SK. Former Hearts of Lions men Abraham Kudemor and Bernard Kumordzi were in action for KSC Lokeren and Racing Genk respectively when the two sides drew 1-1.

DENMARK
In the Danish SAS-Ligaen, Daniel Amankwah was on the bench for FC Copenhagen who beat Sonderjyske 2-0.

SWITZERLAND
Both Ebenezer Assifuah and Ishmeal Yartey started from the bench for FC Sion Sitten who won 1-0 away at Lausanne. Samuel Afum could not play for Young Boys who beat Lucern 2-1 at home.
