KOTOKO BEAT BECHEM UNITED 2-1 TO KEEP MOMENTUM

League leaders Asante Kotoko on Sunday afternoon managed to beat Bechem United by 2 goals to 1 at the Kumasi Babayara Sports Stadium to keep their dominance in the league. Thanks to a brace by forward Yusif Abdul Aziz.

The defending champions got the opening goal of the game in the 36th min when striker Abdul Aziz received a pass from Jordan Opoku to strike home from 16 yards.

Bechem United however got the equalizer 2min to the end of the first half when former Asante Kotoko winger Augustine Okrah took on three defenders only for him to be brought down in the penalty box. The 20year old took the mantle upon himself as he sent goalkeeper Joseph Addo to the wrong way to bring his side back into the game.

Asante Kotoko finally got the match winner when Abdul Yusif got his second of the day with a well taken header to scoop all three points for the Porcupine warriors.

The win keeps Kotoko on top of the log sheet with 50points with six games to go.
