Owner of division one side
Istanbul FC Elda has expressed confidence ahead of his side’s crunch battle
with Great Olympics at the Kumasi Babayara Sports Stadium in the national
middle league on Saturday.
The ambitious Eastern
Regional-based side who won 1-0 the last time the two sides meet in their Zone
2A fixture are eager to make their maiden appearance in the domestic top flight
after failing to qualify to the Ghana premier League at the same stage.
But Elda in an interview
with Power FM says his side can start their middle league campaign on a bright
note by beating Olympics
“We don’t play with your
opinions, we play on the park. And definitely we admit they are experienced.
But I have also got a good team and my team and they are capable”, He said.
“If you can remember we
played with Asante Kotoko and we gave a good account of ourselves so I don’t
think is a big deal. We will give a good account of ourselves”, he added.
The Akyem Techiman side who
finished second in Zone 2A find themselves in a difficult group which includes
two other former Premier League sides – Okwahu United and Tema Youth.
