After seeing
of Korea DPR and Germany respectively, the Black Maidens will be eyeing a third
straight win to maintain their 100% record when they come up against Canada in
the final group game at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayma, Tibas on Saturday.
The Maidens
who began their campaign with a 2-0 win over 2008 winners North Korea before
sealing qualification to the next round with a 1-0 win over European Champions
Germany will be hoping to make it three out of three.
Ghana coach
Evans Adotey who is aiming to go a step further beyond the bronze medal might
be tempted to rest most of his key players in the final group game ahead of
their quarter final clash with the runner up of Group A which might eventually
be Venezuela or Italy.
12 year old
Fuseina Mumuni who is arguably the youngest player in the tournament might earn
her debut game on Saturday.
Meanwhile
Canada head coach Beverly Priestman has indicated her team’s determination to
get one past the Black Maidens to ensure qualification to the next round.
The Canucks of Canada will be holding their
destiny in their own hands as they dropped maximum points in their two opening
games drawing 2-2 with Germany and 1-1 with the Korea DPR.
Ghana is top
of Group B with 6 points whiles Canada lie second with 2 points. With Germany
and Korea occupying the 3rd and 4th position with one
point each.
The game will
kick off at exactly 17:00GMT (11pm local time).
