WINFUL COBBINAH MAINTAIN HOPES OF WINNING LEAGUE TITLE

Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbinah has raised high hopes of winning the 2013-2014 league title although arch rivals Asante Kotoko lead the table with 46 points and are in pole position of annexing as champions.

Cobbinah who returned from injury to help the Phobians secure an important 2-1 win over Ashanti Gold at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday when he set up Odupong Willington to score his side’s first goal said he still believes Hearts of Oak can pull a surprise in the league.

“We can win the league. There are more matches left. We just have to continue winning our matches. We just have to still keep on working hard and I think we can pull a surprise”. He said.

With eight matches to go in the first capital plus premier league, the Rainbow club lies second with 38 points. Eight points adrift bitter rivals Asante Kotoko who are on 46 points after 22 games.

Hearts take on Liberty Professionals at the Dansoman Kurl Raindorf Park on Sunday.
